Shuffle Your Music

Sunday, July 29, 2018

The lovely Amy from www.allaboutamummy.co.uk tagged me in this post recently. I love getting random tags like this because I find it breaks up my blog a little bit from the more serious posts and you guys, in turn, get to know a little bit more about me on a personal level. I take part in quite a lot of these tag posts, I enjoy doing them, they're fun and always very different! I can't remember ever doing a music one though, so here it is!

Now, let’s take a look at the rules:
  • Mention the creator of the tag and link to their blog
  • Thank the person that nominated you for this tag and link to their blog as well
  • Shuffle your entire music library (no matter how old songs the songs are) and talk about the first fifteen songs that come up ( anything like why they are there, if they signify something, any story, why you like them, etc.)
  • Mention the songs as well as the artists
  • Tag other people or more to do this tag and please let them know
And now it’s time to press “Shuffle”, and the first 15 tracks on my shuffle list are…

1) Ed Sheeran - Lego House (Acoustic Boat Sessions)

When this song first came out I adored it. It motivated me so much when I was struggling to power through endless amounts of editing. I used to play this on repeat, this version though, I love it so much, it's such a powerful video too.

2) Example - Microphone

An old friend of mine actually got me into listening to Example and I fell in love with his music straight away, I used to listen to his album on repeat, full volume!

3) Lorde - Team

This challenge has certainly brought back some memories alright! This song came about a few months before I went through a very challenging phase of my life. I became obsessed with it straight away and listened endlessly on my phone with my earphones plugged in. I found out some bad news whilst listening to this song and it then became the 'dark' song. I craved to listen to it but couldn't find it in me to press play because the bad news haunted me. It took me nearly 2 years to press play afterwards and it allowed me breathing space to get over that phase in my life. It still brings back memories, though it's one of those songs that will always hold bad feels for me.

4) Fun - We Are Young

This song was released towards the end fo 2011 but made the charts throughout 2012. This track helped keep me positive and motivated throughout a busy spell in 2012. I was at the peak of my career and had the most amazing playlist now that if I played it now I'd have a grin from ear to ear, it kept me positive, very upbeat and this song featured on that playlist.

5) Olly Murs - Oh My Goodness

I think I was a little bit late getting into this song. I went through a phase of loving this track about 3 years after it had been released. It was short lived though and haven't really listened to it since! Sorry, Olly! (Though listening now his voice has caught my heart!).

6) Vista Cruiser - I Dig, You Dig?

This also featured on that 2012 playlist which helped me focus and kept me motivated. There's a pattern with all these songs that feature on there and that's because they're all very upbeat and happy songs. I listen to this playlist if I need inspiration and it floods my memory with all the good things I accomplished back in 2012.

7) The Calling - Wherever You Will Go (Boyce Avenue acoustic cover)

This band is up there in my top 5. I adore their covers. I loved the original but they took this to a completely new level, gave it a new dimension and that's what I love about them!

8)  Annie Lennox - Walking on Broken Glass

Just to mix it up a little bit. Love a bit of Lennox!

9) Bloodhound Gang - The Bad Touch

If you can't remember the lyrics to this song.... get out. We can't be friends. This song is hilarious and I honestly don't know how I came across it to start with. It's a winner though whichever playlist it features on!

10) Amy Studt - Misfit

I could relate to this song so much growing up. I still love it now, though Amy isn't on the music scene this will always be on my playlist!

11) Mario - How Do I Breathe

I became so obsessed with Maria and would totally fangirl everytime his tracks came on the radio. This like many others seemed to be a strong favourite.

12) The Pussycat Dolls - Stick Wit You

This video inspired me to learn how to braid my own hair! ha ha ha!
I was never a huge fan of the PCD but there were a few songs I'd overplay.

13) Labrinth - Beneath Your Beautiful ft. Emeli Sandé

I never really overplayed this song but I do feel its such a powerful song that it can only be played with high volumes!

14) Skyscraper - Demi Lovato (cover) Megan Nicole and Boyce Avenue

Another Boyce Avenue cover. Megan Nicole is also an artist that frequently features in my playlists. I followed her since she was 12 and started on Youtube - that creativity and drive inspire me massively! I love this song

anyway, they take it to a whole new level, this needs to be sang, at full volume!

15) Amelia Lily - Bring Me Joy

I hated this song when it first came out, I don't know what drew me back in but I love it now!
